Nancy Sinatra (Jersey City, New Jersey, US, 8-6-1940), la cantante estadounidense hija mayor de Frank Sinatra y Nancy Barbato, cumple hoy 74 años.

Nancy adquirió fama internacional en 1966 con su tema These boots are made for walkin', que Lee Hazlewood compuso y produjo para ella, un inesperado y clamoroso éxito que fue número uno en medio mundo. Ella tuvo otros hits después como How that grab you, darlin'?, Sugar town o You only live twice, que no alcanzaron semejante popularidad. A dúo con Lee Hazlewood también grabó temas destacables como Summer wine, Jackson o Lady Bird, pero fue, sobre todo, en 1967 con Somethin' stupid, que cantó a dúo con su padre un año después de su megahit, que volvió a copar las listas de éxitos a escala global.

Multiversionada después por infinidad de artistas, hoy día muchos consideran These boots are made for walkin' una de las canciones más emblemáticas de los años 60.
