Hoy se cumplen seis años del fallecimiento a los 84 de la cantante estadounidense Eydie Gormé (New York City, 16-8-1928 / Las Vegas, Nevada, 10-8-2013). Blame it on the bossa nova, composición de Cynthia Weill (letra) y Barry Mann (música), contenida en el álbum del mismo título de 1963, supuso el mayor hit internacional de su carrera, alcanzando el nº 1 en Australia, Sudáfrica, Alemania y Suecia, así como el nº 7 en las listas de Billboard.

He aquí mi bolero favorito de toda la vida. Sergio de Karlo es su autor y tan sólo su título ya constituye una poderosa imagen. Hace muchos años lo escuché por primera vez en la radio, cantado por su creadora, la mexicana Elvira Ríos. Me precipité en la búsqueda de algún disco que lo contuviese, pero no lo hallé. En su lugar encontré una antigua cassette, "Cuatro vidas" (1965) con esta versión de la cantante neoyorquina Eydie Gormé (por cierto, fallecida el pasado 10 de agosto) en uno de sus álbumes con Los Panchos. Así ha quedado, pues, grabado en mi ADN musical y así lo comparto ahora.
