The Moody Blues - Nights in white satin

NEVER REACHING THE END

En 1967, The Moody Blues, un quinteto británico de Birmingham formado tres años antes, publicaron "Days of future passed", un álbum del que se extrajo en single esta memorable canción que, con innovador uso del mellotron y arreglos de orquesta sinfónica (The London Festival Orchestra), añadido a su romántica y melancólica letra, constituyó un hito en la música popular de los 60 y 70 (en 1972 volvió a ser reeditada).

NIGHTS IN WHITE SATIN
(Justin Hayward)

Nights in white satin,
Never reaching the end,
Letters I've written,
Never meaning to send.

Beauty I'd always missed
With these eyes before,
Just what the truth is
I can't say anymore.

'Cause I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.

Gazing at people,
Some hand in hand,
Just what I'm going thru
They can understand.

Some try to tell me
Thoughts they cannot defend,
Just what you want to be
You will be in the end,

And I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how I love you.
Oh, how I love you.

Nights in white satin,
Never reaching the end,
Letters I've written,
Never meaning to send.

Beauty I'd always missed
With these eyes before,
Just what the truth is
I can't say anymore.

'Cause I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how I love you.
Oh, how I love you.

'Cause I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how I love you.
