Hoy se cumple un año de la muerte a los 95 de la cantante estadounidense Bonnie Guitar (Seattle, Washington, US, 25-3-1923 / Soap Lake, Washington, US, 13-1-2019). Ella fue una de las primeras figuras del country en conseguir al mismo tiempo hits en las listas de este género musical y en las de pop. Así sucedió con Dark moon, composición de Ned Miller que grabó en 1957 con tan sólo un sencillo acompañamiento de guitarras. La canción alcanzó el nº 6 en las listas de Billboard Hot 100 y se convirtió en emblemática tanto en la carrera de su intérprete como del género country.
